Spaceway Chapter Awards
2006 Division 13 Winners
Your local AFSA Chapter attended the Division 13 (State of California) Convention this past weekend in Oxnard CA and came home with a suitcase full of wood.
The awards represent the exemplary accomplishments your folks are doing for Edwards personnel and the community. They competed against 11 bases in California.
The awards were:
"Chapter of the Year" with over 500 members for the 5th consecutive year
"Member of the Year" - MSgt Gunner Graham, 412 AMXS (Joint Strike Fighter)
"Volunteer of the Year" - MSgt Steven Walden, 412 FLTS (Speckled Trout)
"First Term Airman of the Year" - SrA Emily Sirois, 95 AMDS
They will represent Edwards AFB and the State of California at the joint AFSA International Convention/Command Chief, First Sergeant Symposium, Reno NV, in August. At this forum they will complete against 14 Divisions.
OTHER RECOGNITION
The "Golden Bear" Award - CMSgt James Collins, 412 AMXS (Joint Strike Fighter). Selected by the Div 13 President for his outstanding support to AFSA this year
Also, CMSgt Steven Hicks was the guest speaker for the "First Term Airman of the Year" Honors banquet, and he was honored for his outstanding contributions to the AF Sergeants Association on behalf of both Division 13 and Edwards AFB.
